Ana Paula Soares is an Assistant Professor with Habilitation in the Department of Basic Psychology at the Escola de Psicologia at the University of Minho. She is also a member of the Psychology Research Centre (CIPsi) at the same university, where she coordinates the Psycholinguistics Research Group (PRG) of the Human Cognition Laboratory, which she currently directs. Research interests in the area of human language acquisition and processing and its interfaces with clinical and educational applied fields, as well as with the computational areas of natural language processing and artificial intelligence. She has published over 80 articles in specialised journals and several chapters and books (edited). Principal investigator of different research projects funded by public and private Portuguese institutions (Foundation for Science and Technology, Belmiro de Azevedo Foundation), and team member of many others funded by national and international institutions. Her CV also includes the supervision of several master's and doctoral students as well as scientific internships. Ana Paula Soares has also vast experience in teaching different cognition and language courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She currently directs the Doctoral Programme in Basic Psychology at the Escola de Psicologia at the University of Minho.
