Adriana Sampaio holds a Bachelor's and PhD in Psychology from the University of Minho in 2006. She also completed the Medicine Course at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences - University of Porto. She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Basic Psychology of the School of Psychology at the University of Minho. Currently, her research focuses on the study of neurodevelopmental processes, specifically on the influence of genetics, brain (structure and functioning), and environment on various cognitive and emotional processes that occur throughout development. In the scope of her work, Adriana Sampaio has published several articles in international journals, collaborating with research teams from Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and the USA. She is the director of the Neuropsychophysiology Laboratory and has been the principal investigator of several projects funded by FCT and the Bial Foundation. She has been recognized for her research contributions in the field of Psychology.
