UMinho Prize for Initiation in Scientific Research 2024 Ceremony Highlights Outstanding Student Projects

The UMinho Prize for Initiation in Scientific Research 2024 ceremony took place on December 5th at the Gualtar campus in Braga, showcasing the work of thirty undergraduate students who presented their research projects developed within UMinho's distinguished research teams.

This annual initiative, promoted by the Rectorate in collaboration with research centers, aims to engage undergraduate students from the University of Minho in real-world research contexts under the guidance of recognized investigators. It also seeks to foster a deeper interest in scientific inquiry.

Two projects from the CIPsi (Center for Psychological Research and Intervention) were selected for presentation:

  • "The Effect of Body Attractiveness on Statistical Learning", presented by student Ana Cláudia Costa Marinho under the supervision of Dr. Joana Arantes.
  • "The Impact of Gender Stereotypes on the Linguistic Processing of European Portuguese", presented by student Luciana Domingos Correia under the supervision of Dr. Montserrat Comesaña Vila.

Among the award-winning projects from CIPsi, student Luciana Correia was honored with the UMinho Prize for Initiation in Scientific Research 2024 for her outstanding contribution.

CIPsi congratulates both students on their excellent projects and extends its recognition to the supervisors for their guidance and dedication.
