Bio

Iolanda Ribeiro has a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Minho, Portugal, and is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Psychology in the same university (Epsi-UM). Teaches curricular units in master's and doctoral degrees on subjects such as Statistics, Research Methodology, Design and Evaluation of Intervention Programs, Psychological Assessment and Learning Disabilities. Has supervised master's and doctoral theses related with the evaluating of the effectiveness of intervention programs in reading and writing, the construction of reading tests, as well as studies aimed at investigating the trajectories of reading comprehension and reading fluency. At the present, she is the Director of the PhD Program in Applied Psychology. Made numerous communications at national and international conferences and has papers published in international journals, books, book chapters, reading assessment tests and intervention programs in reading and emergent literacy. Was the principal investigator in seven financed research projects and member of the research team in several others. Is a research member of the ProChild CoLab – Collaborative Lab Against Poverty and Social Exclusion, financed by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. In 2009, 2011 and 2014 received the CEGOC prize, for the publication of reading assessment tests, in 2017 the Prize for Interaction with the Society of Epsi-UM and in 2018 the prize attributed by the National Reading Plan.
