João Tiago Oliveira, PhD, is a Junior Researcher at Psychology Research Centre - CIPsi, University of Minho, Portugal, Classified by the National Funding Agency, FCT, as an institution of Excellence. He has completed his PhD in 2018 and his research focuses on Motivation and Ambivalence in Psychotherapy. His scientific interests include process-outcome psychotherapy research, psychotherapy efficacy and  effectiveness, change processes in psychotherapy, feedback interventions, and new technologies applied to  psychotherapy. In the last few years he has been studying pan-theoretical processes (e.g., worry, premature discontinuation of therapy) in the Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders. Recently João is implementing a Speciality Consultation for the treatment of OCD patients and studying the factors that prevent their engagement with treatment. He published more than 30 scientific papers, has close to 943 citations leading to a H-index of 15 (i10-Index: 18; Google Scholar Stats). He now leads a small team which includes 4 PhD students funded by FCT, and 5 master students, and was the advisor of 10 master students. João developed a deep know-how in quantitative data analysis methods and techniques (e.g., Multilevel Models, Longitudinal Analysis, Structural Equation Models). In addition to his Research Position, he is an Invited  Assistant Professor at the School of Psychology of University of Minho, where he teaches undergraduate  courses on Psychological Assessment and Clinical Intervention. He also teaches Psychology Dependencies and Crime in the Law School. In parallel to his Research and Teaching duties, João always kept his clinical practice. He is a  clinical psychologist at the Clinical and Health Psychology Unit of the School of Psychology, University of  Minho. He has also practiced in a reference private practice, Psiquilibrios in Braga, to this day he collaborates with them as Editor of their publishing branch, which publishes for the general public, specialty students and professionals. He also serves as Associate Editor on Frontiers in Psychology (Clinical Settings). João is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy, Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration (SEPI), and the Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR). Between 2019 and 2021 he was also funded by Taylor & Francis through the Emerging Scholars Program promoted by SPR. João is currently the Country Coordinator of the Society for Psychotherapy Research EU Chapter: Portugal.
