Resume

I hold a PhD in Psychology from University College London (UCL), one of the world’s leading universities in neuroscience and psychology research. At UCL’s Research Dept. of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology, with Prof. Essi Viding and Prof. Jonathan Roiser, I started to develop my research on the neurobiological basis of complex social processes and how dysfunction in these processes may be linked to persistent antisocial behaviour. After my PhD, I continued my career as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Viding and with Prof. Adriana Sampaio at the Psychological Neuroscience Lab.

My research focuses on the study of the neurobiological basis of complex social cognitive processes and how dysfunction in these processes may be linked to persistent antisocial behaviour. The central aim of my research is to gain a more fine-grained understanding of the neural basis of empathy and of moral decision-making. I am particularly interested in understanding how neurocognitive correlates of empathy and morality develop from childhood to adulthood and of how variability in these neurocognitive correlates is linked to antisocial behaviour in general, and to the development of psychopathy and antisocial personality disorder in particular. In my research, I employ a variety of cognitive experimental and neuroimaging techniques, including functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging (s/fMRI).

Since February 2022, I have been the scientific manager of CIPsi.  My aim is to create the best possible framework conditions for scientific research and to ensure a positive work climate in our research centre.
