
Juliana Martins
Finished her Master's degree in Applied Psychology in 2016. In 2017 awarded with a Ph.D. grant and completed the Ph.D. in Applied Psychology in 2022 from the University of Minho. Her research work is generally focused on (tailored interventions on) Self-regulation, Mentoring, and School Engagement of elementary and middle school students (from vulnerable backgrounds). During PhD, Juliana developed a research line using school-based mentoring programs as a tool to promote self-regulated learning strategies and school engagement, while fostering students' agency and successful educational paths. Currently, Juliana is a Junior Researcher in the project “There’s no planet B!”: Adolescents' agency towards climate change problem, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, Portugal). Her work addresses students’ climate change mitigation behaviors, knowledge and agency toward climate change. Published 13 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 4 book chapters. Juliana is a certified member of the Portuguese Order of Psychologists since 2018 and has the specialist title on Educational Psychology since 2020.
