Crimes sexuais online contra crianças em Portugal: um estudo das características sociodemográficas e jurídico-penais

O presente estudo analisou as características sociodemográficas e jurídico-penais de pessoas
ofensoras sexuais online e de tipologia mista condenadas por crimes sexuais online contra crianças em
Portugal. A amostra foi constituída por indivíduos do sexo masculino condenados por crimes de abuso
sexual de crianças, pornografia de menores e aliciamento para fins sexuais ( = 121). Os dados foram
recolhidos através da consulta de processos judiciais e analisados com recurso ao IBM SPSS 29. Os
resultados indicaram que as vítimas eram maioritariamente do sexo feminino, com idades entre os 11 e
os 12 anos, sendo que nos crimes online predominavam vítimas desconhecidas e, nos mistos, vítimas
conhecidas ou familiares. As pessoas ofensoras apresentavam idades médias de 34.7 anos ( = 13.28)
nos online e 36.7 anos ( = 11.89) nos mistos, níveis de escolaridade entre o 9.º e o 12.º ano e,
maioritariamente solteiras. As estratégias de abordagem às vítimas mais utilizadas incluíram a
manipulação e ameaças. As penas aplicadas foram mais severas nos crimes mistos, que incluíam abuso
sexual direto, em contraste com os online, centrados em pornografia de menores e aliciamento. Os
resultados deste estudo reforçam a necessidade de estratégias diferenciadas de prevenção, intervenção
e reintegração, ajustadas às especificidades das tipologias de crime e aos perfis identificados.
The present study analyzed the sociodemographic and legal-criminal characteristics of online and
mixed-type sexual offenders convicted of online sexual crimes against children in Portugal. The sample
consisted of male individuals convicted of child sexual abuse, child pornography, and grooming for sexual
purposes ( = 121). Data were collected through the examination of court case files and analyzed using
IBM SPSS 29. The results indicated that the victims were mostly female, aged between 11 and 12 years
old. In online crimes, the victims were predominantly strangers, whereas in mixed crimes, they were
known individuals or family members. The offenders had an average age of 34.7 years ( = 13.28) for
online offenders and 36.7 years ( = 11.89) for mixed offenders, with education levels between the 9th
and 12th grades, and were mostly single. The most commonly used victim-approach strategies included
manipulation and threats. The sentences were more severe in mixed crimes, which involve d direct sexual
abuse, compared to online crimes, which focused on child pornography and grooming. The findings of
this study highlight the need for differentiated strategies for prevention, intervention, and reintegration,
tailored to the specificities of crime typologies and identified offender profiles.
