Responsiveness and therapeutic collaboration in narrative therapy

[Excerpt] The concept of therapeutic responsiveness has been defined as the therapist’s
attentive behavior being influenced by the evolving context, including client’s
characteristics and emergent behavior (e.g., Elkin et al., 2014; Kramer & Stiles,
2015; Stiles et al., 1998; Stiles & Horvath, 2017). In this chapter, we approach
the concept of therapeutic responsiveness at an immediate interactive context
(Kramer & Stiles, 2015) based on the therapeutic collaboration model (TCM;
E. Ribeiro et al., 2013).
