Convidamos a comunidade académica a participar no seminário “Evidence-Based Mental Health Policy: What Does It Mean and How Can We Do It?”, lecionado pela Doutora Francisca Vargas Lopes, que decorrerá no dia 05 de junho, no Anfiteatro da EPsi, das 14:00 às 17:30.  

Bio:
Francisca Vargas Lopes é investigadora no Erasmus Centre for Health Economics Rotterdam (EsCHER). O seu trabalho de investigação dedica-se aos tópicos da saúde mental, desigualdades em saúde, e em cuidados de saúde, e desenvolvimento de evidência para informar política pública. Como investigadora desempenhou funções no Directorate of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs da OCDE, departamentos de Social Policy e de Psychological and Behavioural Science da LSE, no think-thank Nuffield Trust e na equipa de Health Value for Money do National Audit Office. Fazem ainda parte da sua experiência profissional posições de Outcomes Consultant e Outcomes Research Manager em multinacionais de indústria farmacêutica e de analista e consultora no Centro de Medicina Baseada na Evidência, da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa.
 
 
Resumo:
The first part of the seminar is devoted to what evidence-based mental health policy means. We start with an introduction to the concept of evidence-based policy and move towards discussing the ideal targets of such a policy. This includes reflecting not only on mental health care system benchmarks but also on how to tackle the social determinants of mental health and integrate mental health policy into the youth, education, labour, and welfare agendas. In the second part of the seminar, we discuss how to implement evidence-based mental health policy, including the type of indicators to be measured, methods to monitor and evaluate policy and programs, and the pitfalls of performance measurement and of bridging research and policy worlds. The seminar concludes interactively, with participants reflecting on the content to identify opportunities for fostering evidence-based practices in their ecosystems as well as the associated challenges.
